Never could really get into Omaha, too many cards.

Texas, or 5 Card Draw.
Boring game, with little skill to it. I find it difficult to play NL HD atm because the people i play with, iv played with for 3 years. Omaha on the other hand is a completely different game, which im not bad at and people dont know how i play as much as in holdem, I usually cash in the Omaha side games at the union.

I wasnt drunk, i was chip leader for ages, had a sip of my coke and i just felt really rotten and i lasted nearly 2 hours longer not doing badly but i got to the point where i just had to leave, so i did.

Its a weekly tournament our union runs - £5 one rebuy in the first hour. I only cashed once last year, i won it 4 times in my first year. I had such a bad run of cards last year, which seems to have ended now.
I miss playing cards.

Used to do it all the time in the first couple of years of Uni, but most of the group I played with have moved away and got jobs.

It used to provide me with a fairly healthy income as well.

I sometimes play with folk at the bar I used to work in, but that's risky because it's no limit and they have a greater disposable income than me, so I can sometimes get bullied in those games.

Play tournies, cash games are for jokers.

If the games are getting harder because they people know you, then go dressed like this to your next tourney:

(But with a long-sleeve sweatshirt, gloves, pants, and combat boots, so no one can see any skin.)

I've tried the odd tournament and I didn't enjoy it (despite making a few quid).

I just want to have a drink and a laugh with some mates.
I dont enjoy the rush of gambling, cash games are just gambling. Tournaments to an extent are gambling, but not in the same way. There is no dirrect relationship between what you are playing with and money, makes the game a completely different game. If people say to me that because i play poker means i am going to end up as a gambling addict, then they just dont understand what tournament poker is. You dont tell the players at wimbledon they are gambling because they get paid for finishing high enough.....yes i did just compare poker to tennis. :snoop:
