Well, somebody tried to purchase stuff with our credit card number. $1000 computer and $500 camera. They thought they were getting away with it, but Capital One shut it down.
As much as they hike up rates, at least they do a good job in flagging suspicious purchases.

They're a little extra sensitive, IMO. They flagged me for buying a carpet in India after I precalled them, asking them to put a note on my record that I am buying things in India. Dumbasses.
Better still was their voice mail request on my home phone to collect call them to confirm. India doesn't have collect calling. After using Skype to reach the U.S. so I could dial a 1-800 number, a customer service guy for Capital One answered the phone ... and he was in the same province of India as me at the time! [Haryana]

For potential hell in a handbasket as the economy continues to collapse, which it will. Everybody else in these parts have weapons, so might as well stay strapped yourself.
