There is more religion in the poor parts of the world.

Merely this should make you think that religion is something of the past, something we need to get rid of.

If suicide bombing in the name of Islam is not Islam and the example to counter that is that the same could happen with Belgium, I want to know how many people have suicide bombed a house in the name of Belgium.

If the state of Belgium didn't do anything about it, then yes. Sanctions should follow. Islam, because it is a religion that has failed to evolve, doesn't even have serious authorities who could impose such sanctions. So yes, Islam should cease to exist. It's a disease.

But you don't punish them. You say "that's not Islam". That's all nice and dandy, but that doesn't change anything. If you bomb a house in the name of Belgium, you get arrested and thrown in jail. Then the Prime Minister of Belgium apologises on behalf of the nation.

No, there's your problem. You don't have someone who represents Islam. You don't have a clear authority. Because it's a religion that was created for a desert society and completely unfit to go on in today's modern world. A good religion needs two things:

a board of directors: seriously, to say what's right and what's wrong. You don't have that, so Islam can be basically anything. Everyone is right. You cannot be wrong in interpreting the Qu'uran, because you can say whatever the fuck you want. Not smart.

the ability to adapt: sometimes the world changes. Then your set of rules has to change. Islam does not allow for this.

So basically you can't condemn individuals. You can't purify Islam. And that's why it needs to go. It's a very poor religion. You have Catholicism minus the good things.

And the bad things of catholicism are bad.

Like I said before: I think Islam is one of the worst religions in the world, because it has structural problems. You are bound for extremism. You are setting yourself up for governments that use it this way. What you need is a friggin' Pope.

So they must have a common cause. Which is the lack of structure.

Think about the benefits of a muslim Pope. It would suddenly become a controlled religion. Of course it would have to follow a similar course to Catholicism, but according to you most muslims are moderate so it wouldn't be a problem. If you have a Pope, majority rules. If you have a Pope, you have religious democracy.

Appalachian culture is very, very interesting. I saw a sweet documentary on the origins of their worship. It's really interesting stuff to get a look into the mindset of people who pick up poisonous snakes on the basis of faith.

The whole region is filled with little quirky communities. Not too far away from the snake handlers is a mostly black town that had the first circulating entirely black owned and run newspaper in the country. Stuff is nuts down there.
