Guys, aren't we playing a friendly with Monaco on Tuesday?
Channel4 says we're playing against Bayern.
I know that Monaco is Italian for Munich but i think that in this case it does mean Monaco, the French team, and i guess the Channel4 guys mistranslated it.
Or are we really playing Bayern?

Towards the first match of 2009
Seven days to go for the first official match of the new year. Next Sunday, 11th January Juventus will host Siena at the Olimpico for the 18th match day of the first round of the Serie A.
However, before the match against the Tuscan side the bianconeri will have the occasion of testing the field in a match of international level. Tuesday 6th, day of the Epiphany, Ranieri’s team will fly to Messina where they will meet French side Monaco in a deluxe friendly match.
The only encounter with the French side dates back to 10 years ago. Juventus and Monaco met in the semi-finals of the 1997/98 edition of the Champions League .
It was the Juventus of the first era of Marcello Lippi who was marching towards the third scudetto in four years but also towards the fourth consecutive European final, after that of the UEFA Cup and the two Champions League finals. A team driven by the goals scored by Del Piero and Inzaghi, by the fantasy of Zidane and the charisma of men like Pessotto, Ferrara, Montero, Deschamps, Davids and Peruzzi.
On the other side, the Monaco formation was driven by two youths who would later form part of the bianconeri: Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet.
The first leg was played in Turin on the 1st of April. Juventus were not in a mood for jokes and sought to seal the result right from the start. Del Piero confirmed himself asa protagonist also in Europe and opened the score by means of a magical free-kick which rendered Barthez, not exactly the last of the class, helpless. The French side drew level on the 45th minute, but the bianconeri managed to go ahead once again before the end of the first half thanks once again to the captain who scored from the penalty spot.
The 2-1 at the end of the first half changed to a more re-assuring result of 4-1 at the end. Once again it was Del Piero who scored from the eleven meters and Zidane who rounded-up the score, putting the final at close reach.
In the return match, two weeks later, a goal by Amoruso after fifteen minutes was enough to cancel any hopes for the side from Monaco. In the second half Del Piero confirmed himself as a sort of bogey man for the French side, once again leaving his mark. The end result is that of 3-2 for Monaco but the result is only good enough for statistics.
The upcoming match will be the third, obviously less important from a historical point of view but useful in the sense of verifying the team’s condition five days from the re-start of the championship and also to breathe some European air while awaiting the re-start of the Champions League.
Today’s Monaco is coached by Brazilian national Ricardo Gomes and occupies a mid-table position in the French Ligue 1. The squad includes some familiar faces for the Italian public: goalkeeper Flavio Roma (ex Piacenza), Craotian defender Dario Simic (ex Inter and Milan) and Argentinian lateral defender Leandro Cufrè (ex Roma). Speaking of goalkeepers, the second goalkeeper is Yohann Thuram-Ulien, cousin of ex-Juventus defender Lilian Thuram.
The match will be played in Messina at the San Filippo Stadium, which was inaugurated by Juventus in the summer of 2004. All this to the joy of the many Juventus supporters living in Sicily who are ready to indulge in the Juventus visit. After the match against Monaco, Buffon and friends will return twice more to the island during the month of February where they will meet Catania and Palermo respectively.
Tuesday’s match will kick-off at 18:00hrs and will be aired live on La7. A repeat of the match will be transmitted on Juventus Channel at 23:00hrs.
