Right click and place a limit on the upload.

@Asif: I figured out what's taking up all that space in my iPod. There was a hidden file in the iPod:

iPod_Control 1.76gb

Can I delete it?

Whats inside the Music folder?
When you open the iPod you see a Music folder that contains all my songs. Then there is a hidden folder named: "iPod_Control" which contains 3 files:

  • another Music folder - contains music files but named generically.
  • "Device"
  • "iTunes"

in the Music Folder songs are in their original names? not randomly named?
1st music folder they have original names, yes. The 2nd one is totally random, like in letters and digits. What if I delete the hidden folders and see what happens? If something goes wrong then I could just sync everything again and go back the normal settings. What do you think?

Actually its the folder with original names you should move... iPod stores its music files in the hidden folder with random names... my guess is that long long time ago you used the iPod as a storage device and stored songs in the 'Music' Folder...

This is the course of action I think you should take...
1. Cut the Music folder ( the ones with the original names) and store it somewhere on your comp so that you don't lose it.
2. Safely remove the iPod and connect again and open in iTunes.
3. Check the settings like you did earlier for the size of Others.

Just got back from the bars. This is after 12 hours of straight debugging of our computer program final project. All Fortran, GRiB, and C Shell languages. And we still didn't even get the right output.

Anybody who loves computer programming is a nut.

Take that as a compliment, Martin. It is.
