True, but as a final throw of the dice the cockroaches might go nuclear, and we all know who would survive that.
You're assuming that cockroaches have the ability to manifest nuclear power from within themselves or somehow gain control of and launch a nuclear weapon. Both of which remain to be seen and since you originally proposed the idea without the use of weapons I still have to go with ants as the victors.

My original thought was a one on one (sort of anto v cocko) battle. The ants broke the rules by bringing in their vast superiority of numbers. The cochroaches have a right to protect themselves.

Just got in from preparing for my big debate tomorrow. I want to thank Germany and Sweden for pioneering waste-to-energy incineration plants and Cardiff University for doing a study on the subject.
