But I find it absolutely ludicrous that the whole food, organic diet of so many people living on $500 a year in India is considered snobbish and elitist here in this country -- because our food supply has been so perverted by mass-produced, processed food manufacturing predicated on a petroleum-based economy. There are some habits in the U.S. that are not worth emulating, and our diet is one of them.
I agree that American diet and fast food culture is not worth emulating. But this is the effects of western civilization coupled with great marketing. Kids here these days will spend hours each day in such joints. I frankly cannot see many kids walk into a proper restaurant for a date or lunch with friends.
Plus, there's almost no one giving us your side of the story, telling how crap it is. If the flavor's right, they'll gladly pay.
