SB1308 – Allows Arizona’s Governor to enter into agreement, or “interstate compact” with other states that would allow them to stamp an individual’s birth certificate with their legal status as determined by SB1309. Under the law, birth certificates will be branded “citizen” and “non-citizen” to deny rights to “non-citizens.”

SB1309 – Challenges 14th amendment of the Constitution and declares “Arizona Citizenship” where a child of undocumented parents born on U.S soil looses their right to be an American citizen within the state of Arizona.

SB1405 – Denies non-emergency care to undocumented people and requires hospital officials to call immigration authorities if people don’t show proper legal status.

SB1611 – Requires school officials to notify law enforcement when parents do not provide proof of legal status for children, prohibits undocumented students from attending colleges or universities even if they pay out-of-state tuition fees, mandates all companies to use E-Verify for workers, and would make it a crime to drive while undocumented with an automatic 30 day sentencing, requiring a judge to seize and sell the vehicle with the profits used to help balance the state budget.

:sergio: ....man arizona = dumbest state in the country .

I think some of those measures are extreme, but open borders folks are morons. Perhaps some of those measures will make the border hoppers think twice about entering illegally, but probably not.

From a recent CNN online article, it sounds like the kidnappings in Mexico are acting as a natural deterrent against illegals from making the journey. Lots of travelers are being held for ransom in that hell hole.

I have to say that I find it both amusing and disturbing the way things are going in Arizona.
It's dumb that only Arizona is making changes though. The States need to be consistent otherwise they'll all just end up in my state since it's by far the most liberal and accepting of the border states.

SB1405 and very last part of SB1611 about selling your vehicle are fucking stupid and wrong. The rest should all, IMO, be in practice in every state.
Citizenship as a birthright has always been a law and a crucial part of american history. How do you think your forefathers got to America?!?!

In regards to the rest, yes the borders need to be cleaned up, but congress wastes time arguing about other dumb shizz. A bill in which money is funded to fix border security and providing a clear path to citizenship for illegals.

By immigrating legally, paying their taxes, and working their asses off.
 Oh, how I wish I could send you back to the past. What are you irish? If so I would have you know they only gained citizenship because they were "white" , and worked the jobs "americans don't want"

The country wasn't established when our forefathers first arrived, so your point is void.

Why should illegals be granted citizenship?
Not Abe Lincoln. I'm talking about the 5 million irish immigrants who had to work to get citizenship or the italian immigrants....Their are some "illegals" who were moved here as kids without any say, should they suffer? Should they have to go back to a country in which they've lived in for barely a year? Let me clarify what I meant to say, Allow young illegals to gain a clear path to citizenship ala the Dream Act

Gee, they give healthcare to Americans in Mexico? I'm there!

Anybody got apartment prices for Ciudad Juarez?
Edit: Meant emergency care. Per say you get shot or stabbed, or a heart attack. Well if your an illegal and get shot by some anti-immigrant republican in arizona then you'll be left to bleed out

Because allowing that still gives incentive to cross the border illegally. And of course, we couldn't separate the kid from the illegal parents, so they'd end up staying as well.

Why should an illegal act be rewarded?

There is no reason. It's just morons spewing out the same over-liberalization crap they hear in the media.

My Grandparents immigrated from Italy and Germany so yes they worked their way up.

And you do realize that the world was a lot different over 150 years ago. There are six times the amount of people on earth there were back then and the US had plenty of land, resources, and jobs for immigrants. Not to mention that these immigrants weren't receiving millions annually in welfare aid from citizen's hard earned tax dollars.

Why punish a kid for something they didn't directly do?

And crossing the border will always happen, it's called border security funding, make it happen and you'll be fine. Not saying I promote illegal acts btw but I do feel as though these current set of laws is putting illegal kids in tough situations.

Nowhere in the United States is this true.

And if your really that sympathetic for Mexicans then you should look up how they rob, kidnap, and decapitate people who immigrate up from S. America.
