We're at nearly 14% here, due to people on Welfare actually getting money while they are on summer vacation from school :rolleyes:
Well, we've got college grads with decent jobs applying for food assistance. One I know makes $2000 a month, lives in a low cost of living area, yet was complaining he didn't get food stamps. I thought this stuff was for people who didn't have a job or had kids, now you have professionals trying to obtain them.

Real unemployment, U6, is around 17% here.

Jesus, that's a terrible number. Twice as bad as expected. Even a huge loss in government jobs. And no doubt, this number will be revised down just like it usually is. Even the most optimistic of folk on CNBC said it looks like we're falling off a cliff.
