I used to hate that drill. As a goalkeeper it was sooo monotonous. And our coach wouldn't let us challenge the crosses.
At times our goalies are not supposed to challenge the crosses either, but I find this bullshit. I understand that the focus is mostly on finishing, but IMO you should finish crosses that are actually likely to get to you in a game.

My philosophy is if it's a shit cross, I'm going to get that. It's silly to have keepers turn that instinct off.

I guess it's a better end of training session that "point blank" or "keeper wars".
