Why do arabs write with numbers in their words? I've wondered for a long time. Seen it on many forums and in some games, hehe.

We use the numbers instead of Arabic letters that either doesn't exist in English or doesn't have a close phonetic sound

Because it not the way we pronounce it in Arabic. We've a letter for the H and another one that we simply use a 7 to cover for it.

We learn Arabic for five years in the school but it's so insufficient to help us speak Arabic or to fully understand people speaking Arabic. We learn some words though It's probably the most difficult language to learn.

Also, there are many words in common with Arabic and Farsi. Habib is a word we use (barely) in Farsi too.
