You don't get '02 Polos with 1.0litre engines I'm fairly sure, you can get the facelift of the 6N, which is the 6N3, with a 1.0litre engine though. They made those from '98 or '99 to '01. They're obviously not fast, but reliable and a good drive aswell, mate of mine used to have one of those.
I'm not too sure about the Fiestas, but I don't think they come with engines that small, unless you look at a tad older. Don't know much about them.
