i've played 7, 8, 9 (never finished it) and X, X-2

overall 7 is the best

but the best hero is Squall and his gunblade (it was first introduced in to the series in 8). i think cloud is a p*ssy at times. but sepiroth is so bad ass, his theme is my ringtone!

yea but that was the whole interesting part, he was a complex guy, had a lot of issues, dillemas, wasn't you typical hero, and it was interesting to see how sephiroth taunted him, how he lost his best mate (which is the ending of ff7 crisis core) and aeris and then came back to kick some ass!

as for sephiroth........he is indeed bad ass, but, bit of a mommys boy ;)

Aren't there like 23 of those games though?
lol 13 is coming out in a few years or so, but yea, the newer ones arnt that great, the ones on the ps1 were all amazin, 7,8,9, and the great thing is that even thought the graphics now are dated, theyre still playable since the story is so good

If i were going to play, I would have to start at the beginning.
that's the thing, each one is a whole different story, none of them are linked, if you can suffer the graphics, then it's a great game, i love another game called oblivion: eldor scrolls, i think it's great, but i have a freind who thinks it's shit, difference of opinion, but ff7 is a really great game, so if u have a backwards compatible ps3, i'd recommend it, u won't regret it, but hey, we all like different things

Um, dude, I logged over 300 hours on Oblivion.....no joke. My friends would call me and talk to me instead of buying the strategy guide.

Just go look in the oblivion thread.

haha my thoughts exactly, how long does it take to complete without too many sidequests, i'm on about 10 hours so far, done a few quests etc i'm not one for the sidequests though, just want to do the core story parts

    Bad idea...

I say to do all the quests you can before you do the main quest, because if you aren't a high level, you will get owned.

damn, well, your probably right, i tried to take on the mages and fighters guild for fun and they kicked my ass, but i got the official guide, so shouldn't be too much of a problem
