Company I work for recently made a significant public announcement within a few days I am now being catfished by a bunch of very photogenic Asians on Linkedin
I get hit with that in waves. They're always in fashion or entrepreneurship. When I wasn't sure what was up at first, they were always trying to get on my WhatsApp because they know LinkedIn will ultimately find out and delete their accounts. After a handful where they were clearly following scripts, it was pretty obvious they were farmed and not wild-caught.

Some crypto lonely dudes with a jones for catfishing AZNs on LinkedIn, I swear.

Can't wait for generative AI to destroy the need...

Had a first minor arthroscopic surgery on my knee today to clean up the Lateral meniscus damage as it was stopping my leg from being able to fully extend. Now have to rehab that and regain full range of motion before I can get my ACL reconstruction. What a process :lol2:

forza man, you'll be fine within a year. my brother tore my acl in his mid 20's and was playing football on a weekly basis for ~20 years without issues (until he tore his achilles lol), it's just the slow rehab that requires a lot of patience

but you have a brilliant music room so... :wine:

How was it? I'm getting my shoulder done in about 12 hours, didn't even know they do surgeries that early in the morning

Mine was done at 7am this morning. It wasn’t bad, but it was a pretty minor surgery this time. The doc said it took about 20 minutes. The MRI showed a ruptured ACL, both meniscus torn, and bone bruising… but there was an impingement somewhere causing my knee to be unable to extend fully and that qualified for emergency arthroscopic surgery so I got in this morning after seeing the Orthopaedic surgeon yesterday. He confirmed that it was the lateral meniscus tear causing the impingement so that was debrided and the ACL rupture cleaned up. Now I just have to wait until I have full range of motion before the reconstruction.

Don’t feel groggy or bad at all from the general anaesthetic, and not much pain in the knee so I’m going to attempt to just use extra strength ibuprofen to manage whatever pain there will be further out, rather than filling my tramacet prescription because I really don’t want to take opioids

what procedure are you getting done on your shoulder?

Glad to hear it went well. Good that you were able to get it done quickly too, it's so annoying having to wait. Arthroscopy to repair a tear of the anterior labrum and a tear in the subcapularis tendon. Also for one knee I know of a tear in the medial meniscus, but have an MRI scheduled for the other knee next week so we'll see about that.

I feel you on the pain medication, I'm hoping to do the same. I've never had surgery before so this is all new for me, but honestly most of my anxiety is probably around the anesthesia rather than the procedure itself :p

What the heck did you do to yourself, bro? Both knees plus your shoulder? That’s crazy! How long is the shoulder surgery recovery supposed to take?

This was my first general anaesthetic surgery since I was 6 years old, so I was the same. More concerned about that than the actual surgery. But seems to have gone just fine.

Hope it all goes great for you and a quick recovery!

It's wild how this process 30 years ago took 2 years to essentially recover from and today, if you have the money, it can be done in 4 weeks.

I mean, it could be the 1980s or 70s, where they had to cut open your knee and put a water sack in there and cut some knees off of a cadaver to donate your ligament.

Or 1880 and just cut it off. Or 1580 and you just die.

Same to you. Supposed to spend somewhere between a few days and 2.5 weeks in a sling, then 2 months of physical therapy. I'm thinking it will be on the lower side based on what I have been told, hopefully only a few days at most since it's my dominant arm. Won't know for sure until after the procedure though. After rehabbing that though I can do one of the knees and repeat the process essentially. I've been able to walk around, work, and do non-strenuous things this whole time though so more of a painful annoyance most of the time, but goddamn do I really miss the gym and hiking throughout all of this.

Got hit by a car while coming from the gym because no one knows how to drive anymore :disagree:. Luckily I was on a bike so I was a bit higher off the ground, and luckier still it was a small car rather than an SUV.
