I totally get you. It's dark at 16h too and it's very depressing imo. I just hate it. Although I gotta say I'm a summer kid so I find this weather absolutely horrible. People who love it are usually those who are in their warm home watching through the window, but I'd love to throw their outside to enjoy the cold for many hours daily. The only positive side about it is sleeping, and at the same time it's the worst thing, because I don't feel like going out from the bed. I can't wait for this shit to finish and it hasn't even started yet.

I'm with you completely. Not a winter person at all. I too hate staying at home, but with everything closing at 5 pm here coupled with the darkness and cold, there's really nothing you can do haha.
Its perfect in Dubai though, everything is open, cases are low, and temperatures are between 20-24. I'm just gonna work from there till these guys here get their shit together

I love Winter, snow and all. On the contrary, I think It's great outside in snowy landscapes. Go get your camera and go out take some winter pictures. They can't be taken in summer.

Dutch covid restrictions extended for another month. Since I work from home exclusively, I'm just gonna go back to UAE and work from there. The restrictions, the winter, 4pm darkness, and sitting in a chair for 10 hours a day in my living room is too much.

Might be best if you inform yourself if there won't be problems for payment if you plan on moving to another country, because there might be country specific restrictions/government grants. I know most companies allow up to a certain day anywhere then its up to having an office in said country or not.

Ya, i don't think there is any issue in moving temporarily, which is what I'm doing. I don't think I'll be away for more than a few weeks at most.

You can't really compare awesome winter landscapes with the possibility of doing winter sports with huge parts of Europe in which winter just means 5 degrees Celsius and darkness. It offers very little here.

Amsterdam looks amazing in the winter. But that gets old after a few days, then you're left with the cold, rain, wind and darkness. For a brown Arab from the desert, thats like hell.

I will for sure. I miss going out with the cam. I just dislike how it's dark so early so I need a tripod most of the time while my hands are dead frozen. Oh and the worst thing is wind (tripod).

Friend works for a company in Amsterdam but decided to come back home for a couple of months because of winter. The only catch is that he's now waking up at 5 for work.

I agree but I think that's a lot related to the country as well. I think plenty of people would do that in Canada to. Over here it's not really available unless you go to the mountain which are very expensive, so that fun stuff is quite limited here in the capital. It basically narrows down to bars, pubs and such places. I really love walking and I find it depressing seeing whole town empty. My boots also suck so I have wet feet most of the time which makes me hate it even more. But like Dai said, having camera is really a nice thing (not that fun when you feel hands frozen so I don't even feel the buttons that I'm pressing lol).
