Chimay red is the poor man's Chimay. Have you tried the Chimay tripple? I have only tried it from the tap, I don't know if it exists in bottles.

What I love about Belgian beers (another reason) is that they show the shape of the glass that is most appropriate to drink it with. Really sophisticated.
Is that the one that comes in a golden colored label? I've only seen it a couple times in the states.

Blue is better than red but sometimes Red is all you can find. I'll take Chimay red over Budwieser any day.

There are four of them IIRC.

Edit: there are four of them, but one you can only get in Chimay.

I'd love to be able to drink Westvleteren, but at the same time I quite like the principle of those damn monks.
I feel so ashamed when I say that I haven't ever had Westvleteren but since you mentioned the principle you won't be surprised that one hasn't tried it.

Do you like the Westmalle one? Personally I prefer the Dubbel, but it's still great.
Hmm, you may be right about the Westmalle Dubbel being better than the trippel but I don't like Westmalle that much.

How do you like the Rochefort? I think they are superb.

Rochefort is awesome. It's so, so good. Justine Henin is from Rochefort by the way. You wouldn't say huh :D.

You two seem to know a lot about Belgian beers though. I already knew Jack did, but for an American you surprise me, Aaron :D.
One of my best friends studied in Belgium for a year and a half. We he came back we were living in a town just outside of Baltimore that had a bar that featured over 100 imported beers. It was about 5 minutes from my house and 15 from his. I fell in love with Chimay and Delirium. I like Stella too, as well as Leffe and Duvel.

Jack's knowledge dwarf's mine. I only know about 5 Belgian beers.

It's a bit lame, I know, but it's my favorite. You can get it in every bar in Belgium for a reasonable price, it'll always be cold and I'll always like it.

I really don't like Stella though. But I consider that to be my problem, as almost everyone else does.

One Duvel bottle has to be poured in one Duvel glass and anything other than that is just wrong.

Man, I have to go to Belgium very soon.
