For me, it was always be a writer or some sort of craft/trade working with my hands.

Failed as a writer, so lumberjack it was.

I'm a lawyer :shifty:

It's boring af. Would rather be a lumberjack 10/10.
I forgot about this. :p

Money is a good motivator, so there's that.

No money in logging?
I'm not actually a logger. I build custom timber frame and log homes. Money is pretty good. But obviously not up there with certain professions unless I want to work in the office running our business.

Logging industry workers who work out in camps actually make a killing now. But a lot of them work like 3 weeks on, 1 week off, where they work 21 days straight, 10-12 hour days. Hourly wage isn't crazy high, but the overtime makes them a killing. Truly shitty lifestyle though. Same deal with the oils sands workers in Alberta. Work in camps, 80 hrs a week. They make a lot of money, even as unskilled labourers can pull $100k plus a year, but the lifestyle is rubbish.

What would the name for that be, carpenter? As long as you can support yourself it's all good.

Yeah, I could see that. Not sure how people can do it. What's the point of working and making all of this money if you have so little chance to enjoy it?
