I think I did it again. I was asked to name what I was hoping to earn and gave a figure (thinking it would be on the high end and we would negotiate and meet in the middle) but that figure was immediately accepted and now I know should've asked for more :(

If I go back tomorrow and ask to raise is that inaproppriate?
Yeah I’d say so.

That would be a horrible thing to do. In fact, I wouldn't even hire you after.

Maybe.

But not in a way to accept wages just so you could change your mind and ask for more tomorrow. "So I was thinking... I think it should be 4000 rather than 3000". That's just retarded.
I've just heard from colleagues and friends that the US have more job ads with concrete salary range specified, while in Europe you're guessing almost every time unless you're applying for government work. Maybe that's a fairy tale, dunno.

Of course I agree with you about re-negotiating salary that you asked for yesterday being pretty retarded, I wouldn't hire a person if he did it.

I thought the US were more open about their salaries than European companies, no?

It's still unprofessional, but go for it if you think your work is cool enough to not laugh in your face. Use glass door or something to research salary.
I did research beforehand on various sites based my estimation on similar jobs, industry and within the bay area and i asked for more than i was expecting

Then don't try to renegotiate. You probably got a fair deal.
