So your advice to casual music listeners is to get a DAC and a headphone amp just to listen to some tunes after work? Get a medium range mbox soundcard which has both a DAC, ADC and an built in amp and just enjoy the music. The quality will be much better than any internal soundcard in a laptop and you're free from setting up a chain.

Those low end audio interfaces don't really have great sound quality, I have one and use it for recording guitar, even the motherboard DAC in my PC is better in terms of sound output.

Something like a FiiO E10K is a great inexpensive choice, and much more suited for the task.
