Say, Martin... what's your take on the lack of public reaction in the Netherlands on MH17 getting shot out of the sky? Of course, we Americans are bloody cry-babies over everything. But it's not just the lack of political statement (yeah, you got the EU next door in Belgium), but the lack of things like public days of mourning/thought, no half-mast flags, etc...
I rather like the apparent lack of organised, public grieving.
Leave people who want to grieve to do it in their own private way rather than shoving it down everyone's throats.
All public grieving seems to do is compell people to put on big shows of grief and then people who are reserved about it end up being criticised for apparently not being sad enough.
I'm just waiting for the Aberdeen fans heading to Groningen in the next couple of days to do/say something enormously offensive.
