Gotta love the internet atheist and his total lack of interest when it comes to what's actually going down :D
First of all, I'm an ignostic. Second, anything this guy says holds little value to me until it's proven that the Judeo-Christian god actually exists. Everything else is secondary. Integrating Catholicism into modern life? I really could care less.

So you took what I wrote and rephrased it? Why the fuck do you bother debating religion if you could care less what the leader of the biggest religion in the world is doing? Incredibly narrow minded.

not sure if that's a good idea
Word. I guess it's positive if the world's most populous religion becomes slightly less intolerant but its obviously just to appeal to what they see as a wider base. I also find it kind of funny how its completely normal for a man to change supposed long held values of your infallible God so that you can better fit with the changing times.

It didn't, you basically just agreed that you have no interest in the subject that you're so actively debating in other threads.
I meant I could care less about his efforts at integrating Catholicism into modern life. I still have a deep interest in the fundamental concepts of god, religion and its implications on our lives. Catholicism isn't the only religion around, you know.

entao o que fazer?
"Fazer o relax", como peeps portugueses diriam. :D

Hey, if I got to wear a fancy hat and blurt out outdated pieces of moral guidance, then I'd be a pretty fucking cool dude too.
What he said would have been unthinkable with any previous pope. That's the news bit.

It's like the NRA saying, "Hey, maybe there can be too many guns."

I gotta reinstall windows cause I keeping getting the blue screen of death. Argh..
Sorry, Zé ... that is Windows. :D

I'm not sure you realise just what huge steps this Pope is taking towards integrating religion with a modern way of life.
I agree, it's refreshing. I'm agnostic but I grew up in a Catholic family, the new Pope is definitely progressive & that's only a good thing. I'm tired of people who feel the need to take the Bible literally on particular issues while ignoring that there are some pretty fucked up things in it that they would never dream of doing.

Though I have to wonder what my extremely hardline Catholic aunt thinks of him, I rarely talk to her unless I have to because we disagree so much on life (she thinks the fact that I've had sex outside of marriage means I'm going to hell unless I go repent a million times over... even my mother isn't that bad). My guess is she disapproves.
