But seriously, Kyle -- how many Catholics do you think are relying on the rhythm method for their form of birth control?
Kyle is definitely right on this one though. Its one thing not following all the rules(who does? Nobodys perfect) but to drink alcohol, and then feel offended when your offered pork, come on, you're just asking for it :D

Most people make decisions about what makes practical sense to themselves or not. It's highly subjective. There's always the religious argument about who is orthodox and who is the casual heretic, but the casual heretics easily outnumber the others. :p

Its a bit more straightforward in Islam than other religions. These casual heretics, know thats what they are, they don't even deny it :D

I'm not so sure you can get much more straightforward than a Pope who says birth control is against the rules and a billion Catholics who, behind the Church's back, say, "Yeah, right. *cough* *cough*"
