It's funny when you put it that way. Some of those do keep you awake for a little while longer though so I can see why they'd take them. Society has been taking drugs and chemicals to "regulate"(for lack of a better word) our bodies and minds since the beginning of time so I don't think it's that weird. Just that now it's become industrialized.
