Basically, Bud got you to distribute their commercial for beer is what I am telling you. :p
Oh well, i dont pay much attention to advertising - I dont listen to the radio, buy newspapers or watch tv. I get my news from the independent and guardian online and i use adblock so i dont see the ads on there. If i see an article is from a press release i wont read it. So it tends to pass me by these days.

When i studied media at my school we had to do a piece of advertising coursework, i got 114/120 with my partner on marketing a band. It was then that i decided to never work in the advertising industry or study advertising again. In our brainstorm sessions when we made the marketing package we just discussed the most cynical methods we could use to sell something and we got ridiculous with it and had such a bad idea of humanity then i felt horrible getting the best mark in my year on it.

I agree with bill hicks - "if you ever work on an advert, you are off the artistic roll call forever".

Definitely. I was often told at school that I should go into advertising, as I liked art, but I can't imagine a worse job for me.

OMGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWW :sheik:
The best part about embedded YouTube videos is clicking on the most random related videos at the end and getting the worst juxtapositions.

In two clicks I was able to get Sam's text of "I want this dog." under the image of an ugly Desi woman having water poured onto her ass.

Im probably not going to shut up about this for a while lol.

Product placement is now incredibely cynical. It gets written into jokes on tv shows and hidden in costumes etc. One of my favourite examples of the shambles that mainstream hollywood is now is Transformers (my ex forced me to see it).

The main character exclusively wears band tee shirts throughout, inc the strokes and linkin park (who also wrote the soundtrack). Both bands were signed to labels owned by Viacom who also owns Paramount Pictures who produced the film. Both had just released an album and were about to go on tour. I also remember that one of the bands had a poster in his bedroom displaying tour dates. :sergio:
