The "Occupy" movement is hard to define, there is no real central leadership and no real shared policy. The main complaints are that the rich are rich and the poor are poor - they argue that its unfair that banks are being bailed out whilst the poor are being left without jobs. The main slogan is 'we are the 99%' - that the majority of the wealth is being held by the 1% of the population, whilst the 99% are left with nothing.

I don't see how the movement is going to change anything, but it is global and a lot of people are pissed off about it. The issue is that the majority of the protesters don't understand economics, let alone global economics and can't offer a workable solution they are just pissed off.
Nothing wrong with that. If the populous doesn't get pissed off and let people know they're pissed off then things aren't going to change either.

Though I suspect that recent events in America are going to be the beginning of the end for the occupy movement.

Its a pointless movement that allows people to think that they're doing something to drive change. The funny part is that the real people it affects aren't part of the movement.

Thank you, Oaktown...

I am not entirely so sure. When the crowds first filled Tarhir Square without much of an agenda, I was thinking, "Nice, but good luck getting anything accomplished without any stated/shared goals." Occupy has nothing close to what ultimately evolved in Egypt, but Egypt's peaceful revolution started without any core focus but a bunch of pissed off people sitting in a square.

It is ridiculously noisy in my office today :( Someone is babbling, and has been for ages, and they have a HORRIBLE accent in French, it's exhausting to listen to.
