My wife has worked with her directly while Meg was at eBay and needed some communication training for some of her execs. She liked her. Direct and to the point. Not afraid to make a decision.
10x better than that Carly Fiorina wanker. Though both got stupid and ran for political office in California last year. Meg was particularly bad, because it was clear she needed a new "project" to keep her from growing bored with her free time and it was going to be the state of California.
And any person who thinks you can run a government like the CEO of a business is an idiot. It's worse than football clubs selling shares on the stock markets.
She did well. But by the time she left, the organization was big enough and broad enough that it didn't have any "cult of Meg" or anything. (Think Apple and Jobs.) Her last year was probably mostly about the people who reported to her and those she hired.
HP is a tough company to make much of an impact in, but she's probably one of the better qualified for that kind of environment.
