You do pose a good question. The Sheik could be coming off too soft, songelike with a permeable membrane. Women don't respect guys much who they can push and there's nothing to push back. I suppose if you're Cleopatra and you have your own eunuch, that's nice for a while. But it's not the foundation for a relationship.

Meaning: perhaps Sheikster is looking at the wrong people. Instead of starting out with people he's infatuated with, he should start with people he's "meh" about. Not ugly or fat necessarily, just people that aren't his usual type (though his usual type is "mostly female" I believe). If he starts out lukewarm and gives things time to build up, it may be better than overwhelming a new girl with chivalry up the yin-yang that's too intense to start any budding relationship.
