Why am I even discussing this with you, you haven't listened to Crack The Skye, Leviathan nor Blood Mountain.

Whiplash is a so-so thrash song, but thrash in general is a pretty boring genre. Some of the songs from Lightning, MoP in it's entirety and especially AJFA is where Metallica shines, the rest is relatively meh.

I've listened to a fair bit of Crack The Skye and The Hunter to know they're overrated.

Thrash, boring? The last I heard the Big 4 is a really small boring thing based off Thrash.

I guess you're just one of those dudes that favour techincality over the music and emotion. Because Whiplash is a fucking mental song. Or maybe your stereo/sound system doesn't go very loud. Or headphones/earbuds.

A fair bit? So you haven't listened to the entire albums, we agree.

Thrash as a genre is boring as fuck, the Big 4 (or two of them) were good enough to make some of their work interesting. But after listening to MoP there's really no reason to listen to any other thrash albums, the riffs are so similar, the lyrical themes simple and lame - most of the time.

What emotion do you get from Whiplash? You headbang? Holy emotion, batman. I like technicality and emotion in my music, Mastodon for example has both in excess.

What a stupid thing to say. Why should there ever have been any rock bands after Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Stones etc then?

I won't bother responding to that. Rock has many shapes and forms, thrash metal has muted E triples and power chords. I didn't say that I don't like some of it, but it can't really get my dick hard anymore, like it did in high school. The whole image is lame, too.

Wow, so does every metal band in existence.

Thrash is lame? really? If thrash is lame then what is post hardcore and all that emo bullshit?

There are quite a few types of thrash, normal thrash, progressive, crossover etc. What you said was so stupid. If Mastodon is so good at what they do, I guess it just makes the rest of similar metal bands obsolete right? Say, if a new band took a similar concept to Mastodon and similar-ish music and were better I'm guessing that would mean there would be absolutely no reason to listen to Mastodon? I am 100% right going by your logic.
