De La Soul have teamed with Nas for a jazz-inflected new track titled, "God It." Although the hip-hop trio is currently working on a new record with planned appearances by Damon Albarn, David Byrne, 2 Chainz and Little Dragon, they're saying the track is just a fun one-off.

"While busy at work, we also like to play," the group wrote in a statement. "This song is not on the new album, but an indication of good music to come. The song was produced by G_Force and you may recognize our featured guest. We're still in Atlanta recording and it sounds amazing! We can't wait to get this new album to you."

The group launched a Kickstarter campaign this past march to fund April studio time for their upcoming eighth LP, And the Anonymous Nobody. De La Soul are making the record exclusively with samples from jam sessions with the Los Angeles–based session group the Rhythm Roots All-Stars.

The trio surpassed its funding goal of $110,000 in its first 24 hours and at press time – with 10 days to go – the campaign has earned the group about $473,000. The top-tier pledge went for $10,000 and included the group's platinum award for its 1989 debut, 3 Feet High and Rising, which the trio autographed. It also included VIP access to all concerts that De La Soul headline.

"And the Anonymous Nobody really plays on two ideas," the group told Rolling Stone in March. "No egos, no seniority, no bosses, just a group of equal 'nobodies' working towards one goal: making music. Second, there's always a silent champion or brave individual — a 'nobody' — that steps in and saves the day. The person that steps in and stands for something. Something bigger than him...and makes a change. 'Nobody can save the day!' Well he sure can! We are those nobodies.… stepping in, standing for something and hopefully making a change."

P.S Wasnt feeling Vic Mensa in general, but that song with Kanye is fire.

Big K.R.I.T. is still severely underrated around these parts.

As for Vic Mensa, this video always makes me smile

And of course I can't get it to show up
