When I say "grandest", I don't necessarily mean mean "greatest". Whether or not Back in Black is their best produced album is another discussion. On For Those About to Rock the instruments are meaner and louder than ever, but not with the rawness (and amateurish production) of Fly on the Wall. The sound is ambitious, and more in your face than ever - almost to the degrees that you can argue if the sound is too polished. However, it fits the albums hard-hitting tracks perfectly.
then obviously you never heard 'Let There Be Rock', very very raw. Whole Lotta Rosie :mark::mark::mark::mark:

do you even know who bon scott is? :howler: talks about AC/DC but only talks about brian johnson era :sergio:

It is the only song on the album I like.
:agree: basically the only song I listen to besides those occassions where st anger fits the mood perfectly :D

Its what a 14 year old girl with cuts on her arm and a face full of shoepaint would write.
:disagree:

Yes, I have listened to Let There Be Rock. Yes, I know who Bon Scott is. Look, AC/DC is the band I have listened most to in my life since I used to be a very big fanboy when I was younger. I have only talked about AC/DC like three times in here, and it's pretty random if it's about Brian Johnson or Bon Scott, but I usually don't post the biggest hits that everyone knows.

I mentioned that For Those About To Rock is their grandest sound ever, but you decided to completely ignore what I write and made some random namedropping instead. No, Back in Black's sound isn't grander than For Those About To Rock, and no, Let There Be Rock isn't either. Let There Be Rock is raw, yes, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about it sounding grand, majestic or whatever you want to call it.

If you were talking about Let There Be Rock compared to Fly On The Wall, then I still don't agree. Both are raw, but it's different kinds of rawness. Let There Be Rock is well-produced, and has a great rawness to it. Fly On The Wall, on the other hand, is all over the place, and it seems like they tried to see how much they could turn up the instruments without destroying the recorder. Add to that, it sounds like they forgot the mixing process. Fly On The Wall is raw to the degree that it's almost unlistenable.

I didn't know what kind of ac/dc fan you are since I never you saw them talking about them before and most of their international success came after back in black, hence I wouldn't have been suprised if you didn't know who bon scott is(was?).

but anyway it turns out I misread one part and I thought you said Let There Be Rock is raw and it also seems that you are talking mostly about mixing & recording rather than actual song writing and guitar playing etc which is what I was talking about.

Fly On The Wall and most of stuff after back in black is pretty boring for me, I never really listened to it much. probably black ice is my favourite album after back in black (in brian johnson era).

Angus Young is for sure one of my very favourite guitarists not necessarily always for what he plays but for 'how' he plays. his 'attitude' (for lack of a better word) when you hear him play guitar is incredible, his attack and vibrato is like pure rock straight from hell. probably the guitarist that made we want to start playing the guitar the most, even if he wasn't my favourite guitarist even back then.

I think the vast majority of all AC/DC fans prefer Bon Scott to Brian Johnson. Even if they hardly know anything about the band.

I know you thought that initially, but I thought I made it quite clear the second time. Apparently, I didn't. :p No worries, though. ;)

That's blasphemy. :D For Those About To Rock and Flick of the Switch are brilliant. Even The Razor's Edge (despite the poppy production) is better. Black Ice is perhaps their best produced album since For Those About To Rock, but there are too many fillers. Also, the lyrics are awful. Still a decent album though.

On that we agree.

The grandest of ACDC? Well for me it's Hells Bells, just an awesome song that one.
I love how everyone decides to misread my posts. :p Regarding your point, I agree. I can only think of Let There Be Rock (the song), For Those About To Rock or perhaps The Razor's Edge (the song) as possible competitors.

This discussion inspired me to put on some ACDC. The only album I have is Back in Black (yeah, I'm that big of a fan).

The album is fun as hell, hadn't listened to it for quite a while :D .

I think BJ is more popular due to back in black.

Those first two you mentioned are ok but not great imo, razor's edge is average besides thunderstruck. agree about awful lyrics on black ice though.

that video :D
