Yeah i agree still liked the album though... just out of curiosity have you listened to it?
Yeah I have but I wouldn't say I'm familiar with it. I'm not sure if I can like it because it's an AiC album without Layne and for me Layne is AiC. I'd probably like it more if it was under a different band name.

That's how I felt before listening to it that I wished they had used a different name but after a few listens I really love it for what it is everything about it is great except there is no layne and the whole time i listen to it I think this would sound so much better if Layne was singing this instead apart from his missing vocals the album really does sound like an AiC album an tbh I couldn't imagine it being labelled under any other name. The rest of the original band are great on this and the sound is exactly how an AiC album should sound Jerry always wrote most of their songs anyway when Layne was alive so nothing has changed apart from his vocals which of course is imo is everything his vocals are the main reason I love the band so much one of the best rock vocalists of all time and could never be replaced. Give it a few listens you might really like it.

Well I think I'll probably like it eventually but now I don't so much. I know that Jerry wrote most of the stuff (and he is an incredible guitarist) but Layne is really the focal point of band and what makes Alice in Chains so great. The new guy is good for sure but he is no Layne. Imo Layne is the best rock vocalist since the 80s and is up there with the greatest vocalists ever. Probably my favourite modern (if you can call it that) vocalist ever along with Maynard from Tool.

Video of them two singing together :tuttosport: :delpiero:

They sang that together a lot of times in 93.
