I understand that, but the jump from 30 million to 50 million isn't as significant as you might think it is - you can still pretty much do the same shit. It's not as if we're talking about the difference between earning 30 million and 300 million.
From outside looking in, you’re right. But try to think of it from the perspective of someone with 30m net worth. They’re already used to that fact that they are multimillionaires and now they would like more and more.

Napoli are beginning to make a move for Weston McKennie, Manna knows everything about Weston, Conte wanted him at Inter when Juve then took him from Schalke. For Giuntoli, the only solution remains a permanent transfer.

Not a fan of the player but you can't force a player to go to a specific team for your own plusvalenza strategies. Good on Weston for standing up from himself, great role model for upcoming footballers. :kenny:
that's fair enough, but i don't think he was forced to do anything. the negotiations lasted for a week or two before he raised his demands and made a u-turn. of course he was asked about his willingness to move to aston villa, and of course he didn't say no right away

role model :baus:

His contract is expiring in 2025. Would he rather stay and be frozen out and then have limited options as a free agent in 2025? :boh:

I guess that's a risk he might be willing to take :b81:
Maybe a frozen season is worth not going to AV.
Let the man make his own decisions he isn’t doing it to piss the club off

Yeah, good of him to not reject it but ask for some money for him and his agent to do something he doesn't want to anyway.

Absolutely. I have friends in both categories, the 30 million and 300 million, and I can assure you the guy with a net worth of 300+ million isn't resting on his laurels, and the guy making 30 million keeps pushing. At the end of the day, it really depends on what you think is enough, enough to make you happy and set you (and your family) up for life.

It's entirely up to him what he wants to do - at the end of the day, it's his life/his prerogative. Look, unlike others here, I don't hate Wes (my bitterness and resentment are largely directed and channeled towards two specific shitbags). I just don't think he's that good a player.

Was never a Mckennie fan, but it’s hilarious to see that people expect him do what’s best for Juve, not what’s best for him.
No. What's more hilarious is the selective bashing of players.

Trying to be all objective by saying Mckennie is doing what's best for him but Rabiot and his mumma are douchebags for doing pretty much the same thing aka negotiating the best possible deal for them? Very selective and hypocritical.

For the record, I think 'Toli is handling this situation very well. He is not caving in to the demands of players and that's how it should be.

All of Chiesa, Fagiot, Mckennie are on the market because we are negotiating on our terms.

As I said, time to become a serious institution. This should not be a playground for pussyfags like we witnessed under Tici and Bini.

But is anyone mad at rabbit for asking for this money? Most sane posters are upset at previous management for giving him contract and for offering him renewal again.

It's no different to Mckennie's situation. We offered him a renewal but this guy wants to be paid like a WC player and hence we put him on the market.

Good luck finding a better offer than Villa.

Good luck to Fagiot as well if he finds a better offer than JJ's offer.

Neither will be missed one bit.

think you are missing the point i want to make.

rabiot's contract is over. if he gets new contract, that's a juve problem for offering him a renewal. no one can be mad at him if he gets new contract. all eyes should be on guintololi. juventus can easily move on from him like they did dybala for example. just don't offer a contract and let him figure our what to do.

mckennie has a year left on his contract. he is under no obligation to accept anything he doesn't like. you cannot get mad at a player fo respecting his contract until he gets better offer that suits him.

@Bjerknes Never heard a word about this ... looks like Wes didn't cause a bit of a stink. Might be told by some here Fake News? :)

Weston McKennie spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Leeds United, hoping to leave Juventus permanently. However, his spell was unsuccessful, as he could not prevent the Whites from being relegated from England’s top flight. Consequently, Leeds was not obligated to activate his buy clause, and he returned to Juventus.

However, the Old Lady seemed to have moved on from the American, even removing his locker from the dressing room. When he returned, he had to change with the Juve youngsters, which motivated him to show his best form on the pitch and prove his doubters wrong. McKennie, speaking to the The Athletic had this to say on the situation.

“I knew it was going to be (challenging). I didn’t know it was going to be to that extent; where I didn’t have my locker, I didn’t have a room in the hotel, I didn’t have a parking space. I changed in the locker rooms with the academy kids, even when you had players in the main locker room who had never played a game for Juventus because they’d always been out on loan. And I’m thinking to myself, ‘Wow, I’ve only been gone for six months. I come back and I am treated like this’.

“I couldn’t even get my shirt number, even though nobody else had taken the number. I was like, ‘OK you guys want to treat me like this? I’m just going to show you on the field’.’

McKennie was clearly out of our plans in 2023 and was supposed to leave before last season began. However, he deserves credit for fighting and winning a place back on our first team. When it seemed his career in Turin was over, he stormed back and proved to be too good to ignore.

I know he acts like a goofball at times trying to get a smile from everyone, but sure acted like a MAN here! Good for you! :baus:

We treat our own players like shit. We really need to reform ourselves as a club and just do better. Its pathetic.
