And actually the pizza in Portugal is actually really good. And I say this as a Chicago native. Definitely better than anything I would typically get in San Francisco, and there are food snobs there.

I think it's that many Italians of any ambition, without outside support to open their own pizza places in Italy, often come here to Portugal under EU visa rules to do that.
