as i said before, he really needs to step up cuz he can't hide behind arthur, ramsey and rabiot since they gone now.

his decision making is awful and needs to improve cuz he finds himself in dangerous situations that he wastes

I really liked him tonight. He read the game defensively better than I've ever seen. A few times especially in the 1st half his interventions and covering for Cuadrado and Sandro were crucial

Offensively he will always move well, but there were no players in the box or they were moving slowly.

With a dislocated shoulder recently. Dare I say he's growing up a bit?

He really wasn't involved much for the first 30 minutes of the game. Barely touched it. Importantly, he started to get into after the cooling break and didn't make many mistakes which was good enough tonight.

It's annoying to see his lack of ability to pass the ball and sometimes make the right read, but it's great to see his movement off the ball, defensive workrate and verticality with the ball - he always goes towards the opposition, it's kind of a rare trait these days. He can also fill in as an AML or AMR when needed.

Good player for the squad, definitely. Best b2b mid we have. But we do have to play him with other guys who can pass the ball
