This has been the problem with Juventus' recruitment over the last few years. We sign too many one dimensional players.
Sarri played Matuidi for 'balance' last season but we all know how limited he was in all other areas. Now Pirlo will be forced to play Weston for 'balance' but Mckennie has shown he can be limited in his passing. Same thing with the likes of Rabiot and Bentancur. They have one decent skillset but they are poor in everything else. And they're pussies to boot.
Seems those 'dynamic' midfielders have been vanished from our radar ever since we sold Vidal and Pogba.

I agree but its not really easy to find dynamic midfielders like Vidal and Pogba cause everyone wants them. Locatelli seems well rounded good on the ball, good tackle and very strong.

Three man midfield with regista like Arthur/ Locatelli, more attack minded Mezzala like Aouar and the 3rd position is all Weston's. Bentancur can be his backup.

Lots of defensive duties for McKennie in such midfield. You think he can do it? So far Pirlo is playing him in a completely different position, where we cannot see his defensive qualities. He's obviously instructed not to try and pass the ball and to look for spaces in the final third. Playing further up the pitch restricts him from doing the defensive job Bentancur, Rabiot and Arthur are given and that is why I think his defensive stats are worse than theirs (tackling, interceptions, balls recovered, blocks). That is also why he's not covering as much distance as one would expect from a midfielder (it's similar with Kulusevski. He runs like 2km less per match as an attacker, compared to his time in Parma). Playing with Aouar and Arthur in a three-men midfield will require finding a completely different role than the one he's playing this season. It will also require more passing from McKennie, and Pirlo already criticized his passing and tried to find a position for McKennie which doesn't require too much contact with the ball.
We'll obviously keep McKennie, and I don't think we will have a starting midfield next year, but if we do, I think McKennie will be sacrificed.

That's because he isn't playing the full 90 minutes like he did last season. It's the same for every single player that doesn't consistently play the full game (including McKennie). For this reason the distance covered per game isn't really useful as it heavily favours players that play the whole game.

So if someone covers 9 km in 80 minutes and gets replaced, they are counting 9000/80x90 = 10.125km per 90 minutes.

I'm quite certain they are not. That is if you're talking about the Lega Serie A site. They have distance covered per match which as I said I find quite useless.

If they were counting it for 90 minutes, that should be 10550x90/111 = 8.55km. If they are counting it per match, it should be 10550/4 = 2.63km per match.
Yet they give him 4.76km.

McKennie doesn't do anything a midfielder should do. He doesn't pass, doesn't tackle, doesn't win possession back by intercepting passes, doesn't come back to block shots, doesn't cross and he doesn't run enough.
He did score 4 goals in the league, which is a fine number for a midfielder. But if he doesn't do anything else a midfielder should do, why do we need him for? To score 4-5 goals per season? Buy an attacking midfielder then who'll score 10 and assist more than that.

The problem is you all expect this young lad becomes the second coming of Vidal.

We Brough him cheap and has been better than most of us expected. Unfortunately he still suffurs from injury according to Pirlo for months and hasn't recovered yet. He showed his quality when he was injury free at the begening of the season.

So A healthy Mac is a very good rotational player.
