it wasn't long ago our resident gala fan was claiming how selcuk is better than Pirlo and how Muslera is a world class goalkeeper and how melo is the best brazilian midfielder in the world

I'm not convinced, however even at 4.5 million wages for a couple of seasons, it's not a particularly high risk signing. He's a very seasoned footballer, and at 30 should have some brilliancy left in him. At least to do very well in Serie-A.

It's not ideal, this, but I won't lose any sleep over this signing. It's not scandalous by any means. If we truly need a trequartista and he's the best available, I say welcome aboard until we can find a younger up and coming player for that role.

Technically, we can easely go 4231 if we add Berardi and someone else. Imagine if Shaqiri doesnt move and we can snatch him in the summer
