We have this on another forum I'm on and it works really well.

This is how it works:

We agree a time to hold the quiz every week (e.g. Friday at 16:00 CET).

Each week one person (usually a different person every week) thinks up 15 questions. We'll call them the Quiz Master.

People who are taking part post in thread saying they are taking part.

The Quiz Master posts the questions in the thread.

Everyone who is taking part sends their answers to the Quiz Master via PM. They have 20 minutes from when the questions are posted to send their answers. If the Quiz Master doesn't receive your PM in time, you are disqualified. This is to discourage people Googling for answers.

Each question is worth 1 point. Each week the Quiz Master adds up the points for each member and posts a league table (like in the Prediction League).

What do you think? Any questions?

I am in, have no interest in cheating, and cant see what the appeal would be for anyone who would sign him.

And I agree, no old obsecure questions like the above example, or like "How many argie nuts did Stiles kick in, in the 66 WC game?". Not much knowledge or fun in such trivia.

I might be in.

I don't see a problem with old questions, but common sense has to be used to not make them ridiculously obscure.

No problem with asking a question about the 1970 World Cup, for instance, as it is not unreasonable to think someone would have some knowledge of that.
