i agree with all those names, but i think we need more than just one defender.

defence:
1 quality centre back (Cannavaro)
1 young back up (Mexes)

Midfield:
1 quality DM (Emerson)
1 Playmaker (Rosicky)
1 versitile player (Jankulovski)

Forward:
1 Back up to Trez (Gilardino/Cavenaghi/Zlatan)

as for getting those players:

-Di Vaio swap for Cannavaro
-Mexes shouldnt be too much and with the cash we get from tudor, it could get mexes. Roma have got Ferrari by the sounds of things, so hopefully that means Mexes is juves.
-Emerson deal should come through. i think Blasi or appiah plus cash will get him.
-Rosicky will be relatively cheap, just cash for him.
-Janks will involve brighi and maybe another youngster going there plus cash.
- forwards differ. Gilardino and Zlatan would cost a lot of money, so im thinking cavenaghi would be better to get as salas will definately be involved in the deal.

that's ridiculous, not even Inter are stupid enough to do that. Why would they give us on of Italy's best defenders in exchange for a crap striker when they've already got an attack-heavy squad?
actually, this is probably the most likely rumour to come true. Cannavaro wants out and inter is already lining up Burdisso from boca to replace him. Di Vaio in the deal satisfies Inter apparently, so its a good thing.

so many rumours flying around now, its impossible to pick which will come through.

Mexes for backup?

Rosicky was nothing without Nedved yesterday...

A striker, worthing 10-13 million euros, and earning high sallary for sub?

Not clever

Rosicky was nothing without Nedved yesterday...
but he was good in other matches. moreover he won't be that much expensive and he is YOUNG and he wants to come to juve.

Salas unsure of future
Friday 2 July, 2004

Juventus owned striker Marcelo Salas is looking for a new club after his River Plate loan deal expired.

The Chilean spent last season with the Argentine side, the club where he made his name in the 1990s.

The 29-year-old was hoping to make the move permanent but he played rarely for the outfit after a string of injury problems.

Now he is considering his next move given the fact that he no longer features in the plans of Juventus.

"Even though I haven't been in Europe for a year, I'm still getting lots of calls," said the forward.

"That means that what I did in my five years in Italy (with Lazio and Juventus) made a big impression," he continued.

"I haven't decided anything yet. I'm going to unwind, clear my head and we'll know in the next few days if there's anything new. I'm in no hurry and calm about my situation."

Clubs rumoured to be interested in the player include Real Mallorca, Paris SG and Mexican outfit America. Numerous sides in Qatar and Saudi Arabia are also assessing bids.

You want to pair two aerially inept central defenders?
both cannavaro and thuram are pretty strong aerially, imo better than many defensive pairings in the world, aerially at least.

As strong as Cannavaro may be, he's too short to take on players like Shevchenko or Vieri. As for Thuram, I think that he's proven that he has very little ability to judge the ball in the air, and I wouldn't chose him to win a ball out of the air versus half the strikers in Serie A.

with regard to thuram,he made a couple of errors in jugement this season which resulted to goals being conceded, but a season ago he was pretty solid.
