I hope Italy meets USA in the round of 16 and we beat them.

This isn't basketball or Lacrosse.

I think the irony herein lies in your belief that the US will finish anything but bottom of their group (don't resort to FIFA rankings to dispute or refute my argument).

Moreover, it is impossible for Italy to meet the US in the Round of 16. IF, and that is indeed a big if, you guys make it out of your group, you are likely to face Belgium or Russia.

I wouldn't quite call it a 'great' chance, because on paper Germany and Portugal would be expected to both beat the US and Ghana. You might well be looking for a favour from Ghana, most likely against Portugal. In any other group I'd agree, winning the first game statistically gives a strong chance of going through.
