I'm a little annoyed. But since David Villa is the only player on the team it's easier to get over.
True. If not for Villa, Spain would be sucking wind and may not have made it out of the group stage.

none of these club players showed up in the WC.

Rooney, CR and then Messi! They all had the lavel FAIL all over them!
Welcome to Swag's Rule of Nike World Cup TV commercials: anybody featured in them is doomed to failure.

So Cape Town is a blast. Rather than hang with Merkel and the rest of the Krauts, my wife and I went to the FIFA Fan Fest about a mile from the Green Point stadium where they played.

Will post a couple of photos when I can upload on this crappy 60kb/s download connection here...

This has got to be the worst World Cup ever.

And Holland! My God! How can you be that bad and win against Brazil? I can't say I mind them winning the thing, but what a ridiculous game. And Melo

- The Paraguay goal was correctly ruled off. Cardozo was in an offside position when the ball was played, he interfered in play by interfering with a player of the opposing team(Biscuits).

- The Paraguay penalty should have been taken again, two Spanish players were about 6 meters away from the ball when it was played, the rules say they have to be 10 meters away.

- The Villa penalty was correct and the defender should have been sent off

- There should have been a penalty for Cesc, and the keeper should have been sent off.

Come on. I really don't think we should be talking about this sort of stuff if you've seen what has happened before in this World Cup. What happened to England was such a poor call it destroyed the entire credibility of this World Cup.

Worse than 2002?

If things go as I wish, this is heading to be one of the BEST World Cups ever. Seeing Italy, England and Argentina get humiliated was enough to rate is as a very good World Cup. Add do that the manner Brazil crashed.

Hopefully Tuesday and Wednesday crown it as one of the best.

It comes close. 2002 was bad because one team was helped by the refs, but this one is awful because randomness is beating quality every single time.

England wasn't humiliated. They crashed out because they had the worst call in the entire history of the game against them.

Jamal Al-Shareef is a respectable referee. Agreed on all, except the bolded part. Just a yellow, IMO.

Don't forget what happened to Mexico in the very same day.

Refereeing in this tournament has been a farce.

Mohammad Fanaei >>>> Jamal Al-Shareef and he said Paraguay's goal was correct :D

Who the fuck is that??

I don't think his credentials match those of Jamal El-Shareef

Now this is an expert one could trust.

He refereed in 3 WC's. 1986, 1990 and 1994. His credentials speak for themselves.
