Avila is a typical Spanish name, as Ávila is in Spain. But there's a few Portuguese with that name.

Her family is from the Azores -- the island of São Jorge, to be exact.
Most of the Portuguese who ended up in the U.S. are from the Azores. People on the main continent had more things going for them (including things like fewer devastating earthquakes in the 20th century).
Do you know where your great grandmother is from? Or at least her last name?

The paper is well known for its sports section, which has been praised for its comprehensiveness; it begins on the back page, and among other coverage, contains columns about sports in the media by Phil Mushnick.

I'd take what they say with a grain of salt though because that's the same paper that runs a sometimes sensationalist gossip column (Page Six)

the last four years england fans have been quite because they've been beyond crap. Even the most biased england fan would blame themselves for the last 2 exists.
Go back in 2006 , they started a I hate ronaldo website, voted for podolski to ruin ronaldo young player award, and egged his house. The media convinced everyone that somehow ronaldo "winking got them knocked out." It got so bad that ronaldo said he was off to valencia, and it had to take sir alex to prevent him.
2004, the ref who disallowed cambell goal in extra time, had to go in hiding because he received death threats, and was called a "Swedish banker" by the sun.
Having said that, Italian fans must be stupid if they are blaming anyone but themselves, for the last 2 exists too.
2004 might of been doggy, but had they been decent they should never of put themselves in that situation in the first place.
as for 2002, i was more concerned about the korea spain match, it did seem that korea were getting additional help...
