and both red cards were definitely harsh and undeserved. kewell didn't deserve anything, and Cahill only deserved a yellow

Yeah, I don't think it was a handball either. But it is quite difficult to tell.

yeah, it definitely was up to interpretation, and I know I would have erred on the side of caution in this case, seeing that IF one was to decide it was a handball, it's a sending off and a penalty, which simply is too much of a penalty for something so debatable

I don't care about Australia, I'm pretty objective in this case, and I think that Kewell's red card was a stupid decision by the ref, and Cahill's was extremely harsh

There's no real room for interpretation here. If it's a PK, it's obviously denying a goal and thus a red must be issued. I don't know how you can doubt it.
