Lying about what? I could have easily been of another nationality. My nationality is not what I'm proud of, nor is this what I'm ashamed of. I can be only proud/ashamed of myself and what I'm doing myself. I owe nothing to the place I live. I sure want my country to be successful in all respects but this is only because I want to live in a better place. Now, what does football have to do with it and how can it make my country a better one? I don't have to cheer for the teams who represent my country when I don't feel connected to them so what kind of crap is this? I like football because it lets me enjoy my time and for this I personally need to be a fan. It's just a sport not a complicated matter of being loyal or not to your nation.

You make good points Horri.

However is this not why you find a connection to Juventus? as most of the members here do the same especially because were not from Turin or even from Italy.

Supporting another Nationality different to your origin is something I cannot understand and I will never accept. I suppose I'm lucky due to my nation having an adequate football team however what if one day I thought. Well Brazil seem sucessful and play the best I'll support them over England that would be so wrong.

Theres nothing wrong with appreciating Italys football or wanting to watch them. However to cheer for them passiontly is wrong.

I've been to Italy many times, adore the country it's very beautiful in parts. I also like to watch Italy but thats where it ends. I cannot pull myself to jump up and down when they score.

Wow, I always try to say just that but you put it better that I do. But I do think football can do a lot of good for a country, as seen here when we qualified for the WC in 2006.

Nicholas, just because you feel it would be wrong for you to cheer for a different NT team does in no way mean other people don't feel different about it and are in fact comfortable and ok with cheering for a nation that is not their own. Get over it.

Although, the way I feel here is what some who support more than one club, for example, may feel. We look down on that and chastise it, but there is nothing wrong in supporting Man U and Barca like Maher, other than what us snobbish fans think.
