It ain't necessary, but we don't only open "necessary" threads.
I guess not every team will get its thread. People probably won't start a thread for North Korea. At most some 10 teams might get it and in those threads only things related to the players from that team or the team itself will be discussed. The groups cover wider ground.

Since there already is an Azzurri thread, I really don't see why can't we open a thread for some other team.
Juve being Italian can't be the reason. Juve are also European and from the planet Earth.

    No there isn't.

    It can be discussed in the groups thread and here. There was always only Azzurri thread but now people cry about others. I don't think it would be a good idea, having 10 threads like that one would only complicate things. Other mods will say if they any different.

    It's the first time they've done it if I remember. Personally I think it's a good idea.

    I knew as soon as I saw it, it would get flak.
