So you're going to be Clint Dempsey for a couple of weeks?
i am more hopeful my username will be PenaltyKickShootout:angel:

RACIST!

The inevitable fights in Aberdeen between England fans and non-England fans are always described as racially motivated, but I can't see why.
one of the funniest things i experienced watching a world cup game was in 98,i was in a bar watching England-Argentina,there were a dozen or so Englishmen in the bar and after Owen scored they were getting massively overconfident, loud, brash and extremely disrespectful to Scotland and our supporters. now at this point nobody in the bar had bothered with them but you could feel the growing resentment to these English cu....em...men
they were getting more and more cocky until Becks petulantly flicked out a boot at Simeone,to say the atmosphere in the bar took a subtle turn would be an understatement...the English knew they had turned a bar full of Scottish football fans into the Argentina fan club.

the game went on,the English still being loud and abrasive, the looks of contempt they were attracting had not turned into anything threatening but we all knew if England won the penalty kick competition they would be celebrating long into the night and at some point someone with too much drink would do something foolish

the penalty kick shootout...welll....it really could not have gone any better now could it,David Batty an intolerable cunt stepped up and missed,my first instinct was to stand up on my bar stool, raise hands in the air and start to sing "they're coming home, they're coming home, they're coming" and the whole bar burst into "Englands coming home" the English guys left rather promptly after that,we went on to have a rather pleasurable evening, the English media blamed Beckham for not winning the world cup and the world was a better place and us Scots could go on and enjoy teh rest of the world cup

It was well played by the Argentinians, but I wouldn't have sent him off. I don't think refs would send him off if it happened now either. Don't get me wrong, a strong reaction will get you sent off, but this was nothing.

no doubt it was a stupid decision, overly harsh but for that it is even more hilarious, besides it gave the English media their fall guy, afterall if Becks had not stuck a leg out they would definately have won the world cup. just like if Diego had not stuck a hand out they would have won the world cup........etc

Teams should stop playin god damn friendlies, their only purpose is to raise the chance of someone gettin injured.
they should stop training also? that is how Sideshow Rio got injured by Emile "how the fuck am i still an international footballer" Heskey

^^no that's why i said "raise the chance"..of course you can't keep players in a vacuum but the chances of gettin injured in a friendly is a lot higher than in practise..i think..

at this moment it is less about fitness but keeping them "match-sharp" no amount of training can keep that instinct going, that is why friendlies are so common, despite the risk associated with teams full of players wanting to show they are commited

The defence isn't great, but it's not that bad. We score a lot anyway.

Plenty of countries found out the hard way.

If Robben is really out for the whole thing, that really damages our chances of going places though.

Holland never stood a change post the group stages, the defence cant stand up to anything with tallent!
Bla bla, we will see about it. It's Ital or Paraguay the next round if we go through, Are they any better then Cameroon or Denmark?

Robben will make it to the WC, he can go there 24hours before the match so no worries!
