Did you guys read this? :

The FIGC reacted angrily after Lega Nord politician Umberto Bossi suggested Italy would “buy” their qualification against Slovakia.

The Azzurri must win Thursday’s game in order to be sure of reaching the second round of the World Cup.

When asked for a prediction on the score, Bossi gave an unexpected reply.

“It doesn’t matter, as they’re going to buy the result anyway. You’ll see that next season in Serie A there will be two or three Slovakian players in the I
talian clubs.”

If you must know, I think someone paid Moreno and the referees in the Spain-Korea game. If FIFA was involved I can't really tell, but as it is one of the most corrupt organisations in the world, anything is possible.

They've got a criminal for president FFS.
Meh, Italy were unlucky.

Or maybe it was fixed and to make up for it FIFA paved the road to Italy's World Cup?

You would have hoped so. But Italy got big calls against them too in 2006. The red card for Matrix, the penalty in the final.. All in all I think they deserved the win in 2006. I can't say the same for Korea in 2002. Or even Brazil TBH.

I know very well. But they don't just say such things to be interesting. They fucking mean it. And imagine what does a mind like this one do when Italy ends up on the losing side and there is some wrong call by the ref.

Actually, you don't need to imagine it. You are actually doing it, like a real Italian :D

True :D.

I think there are a lot of things that aren't match fixing per se, but that do influence games.

what call in their favour? if you're going to say Australia, it was a penalty.
Dunno of any specific instances, I was trying to be a reasonable fanboy. :D

The PK might have been technically legal since there was contact but the contact was soft and Grosso could have stayed up.
