Don't you guys think that a team that will pass the group stages might be the team that concedes the most goals?
Afterall, the team that will lose the 3rd place match might end up conceding the most goals, simply because that team will play 7 matches and North Korea or Honduras will play 3 matches.
Good point, but as we go far along in the competition the matches get harder and have tighter results... And with Brazil/Spain trashing NK/Honduras they might end up conceding 7-9 goals
Bulgaria in 1994 conceded 12 goals, I think. Dunno if it was the highest, but I won't be surprised if it was. And as you know, they finished 4th in that WC.
Well, if they're on they are on. They had some very good results in qualifying (particularly against Mexico) and their style makes the games against them always hard. The US won 2-1 and 3-2 in close matches.
