Damm, whata game.... lot of suffering for us azurri fans....
OK my views on the game...........
It was a hard fought first half..... but sadly,,,, since the beggning of the game things went the wrong way.
I donty care if some around here dont agree, but IMO thart penalty was not even debatable.. it was NONEXISTANT...malouda is a damm actress and Materazzi didnt even touched him. So Frenchies cant be arguing a lot because for this reason that game was not even meant to go to extra time.
Good definition by Zidane, pure class...... and Matrix goals was his redemption for a nonexistant penatly foul. Very good header by the way.
Both teams had their chances in that half and IMO Italy showed the determination that characterized them torhought the whole cup.
Second half.... from now on till the end of extra time... it was almost all France... with Italy only showing signs of life in their defensive duties.
Lippi tried something with the changes... but like some journalist said.. u cant do much with changes when the whole attack is playing bad.
Good game by henry and Ribery...and i have to say that malouda,, taking out his oscar worth dive, did a good job against Italy defense.
Now the Zidane incident......
Ok.. ironicly i was talking about this with "Mennemth" in the "pele amaradona and Zidane" thread. Zidane´s only weak point is that he is too aggresive sometimes,,, and he lose his patience quite easily.
Someone said that Materazzi is a douchebag, but even that dont save Zidane of the stupidity he did,, maybe the biggest stupidity of his entire Life!.
You can say wahtever you want, and im even sure that matrix mentioned Zidane´s mom, wife and sons in those comments... but NOT even that give Zidane the right to do something like it. Is not Materazi´s fault,, NOT EVEN A LITTLE. He put the trap and Zidane fell for it......... like Totti and a lot more have done the same....In this kind of encounters is when you need to show what kind of proffesional you are and to stay calm.
I have a big respect for Zidane, he is my hero and i have to accept that until that point he was magnificent... but he really fucked it and big time.
Red card full deserved and it was maybe France´s disgrace, if someone needs to be blamed is Zidane, not even Trezeguet.
Penalty shoots greatly executed by Italy and bad luck for Trezy (that hurts to see him failing the kick).
Some can say that in this game the football failed to the world....... but ill not eat that bullshit. Italy deserved to be in that final..and in a game where the teams are so even, anything can happen and it can be decided only by a moment of individual brilliance or incredible stupidity.
Italy fought, sweat and cried blood to get this cup.
