The bad news is France always beats Italy for some reason and will want to do so very much on sunday
The good news is they are no where near the world cup winning side of 98 and the fantastic side of 2000 where they were the best side in the tournament but were not the better side in the final
Last time , Italy were so negative and beat Holland with play that only Italians would have admired and the whole world wanted them to lose
This time around , though they beat the host, they did it in style and got a lot of admirers along the way, and will not have has many bad wishers as they did in 2000.
If you look at this French side , its only Sagnol and Gallas that you can say there is an improvement on the 2000 side
Henry is still the same, Makelle is not superior to Deshamps, Zz is less now, Ribery and Malouda are inferior to the Pires and Wiltord of that period. Abidal is a centre half and nothing on Lizarazu.
Of cos Italy have to go out there and do the business, but it wont be easy as France have a very good defence if they can stay concentrated.
I think Lippi will start witht he guys that started against Germany, the only change I might make is switching Perotta to the right of midfield and bringing in Daniele De Rossi for Camoranesi and perhaps Nesta for Matrix
