Eddie Lewis is a left wing specialist and could perhaps fill the left-back role as Bruce experimented with him there several times and he excelled. Lewis also has a good left peg and is a good crosser of the ball. The real midfield specialist for us is Reyna who is the link between the defense and attack.
I meant to say free kick specialist not midfield specialist, what the hell is a midfield specialist? I am losing it , it seems:D
@Enron, anything to do with phones in a juventus site or with juve fans is kind of a sore point at this time

That comment wasn't directed at Juve. I see nothing wrong with it as it was a joke. If I wanted to insult Juve I'd just say Moggi is a cheater and be done with it.*

I think they are interchangable though Keane has punched his manager something Gatusso has never done. My title as the Irish Gatusso comes from Andy and Burke's description of my play one night in a stadium parking lot after a football match.

I don't think Keane's ever punched a manager. Brian Clough decked him once though.

Okay, back on topic please!

Does anyone think the Czechs have a World Cup in them? They were everyone's dark horse for Euro 2004, and even if some important players are a bit long in the tooth now, they've got to be taken seriously, right?

I reckon the old legs would do them well, they still have the fire in them. They did not impress that much pre-WC but i guess they have enough experience to do well. How r they playing is a mystery to me, they have a big boost as rosicky was declared fit.

I dont believe the Czechs have a world cup in them, i think they blew it big style against Greece in 2004 and that was the last hurrah. They might just go the way of Portugal 2002 who ought to have done better in euro2000 and ended up being a tournament too far for many of their stars. If they and Italy are not careful, one of them or both might go out at this stage

Wait. I thought Keane punched out his manager before the last World Cup, which was why he wasn't on the team. Am I wrong? And if so then why did he get tossed?

And no I think they are too old.

I don't know what a midfield specialist is, however you do seem to be losing it. :D

Somehow I see a lot of disappointments in this group.
I don't know if we will see two major disapointments, however I would not be surprised if both the US and Ghana reach the next round. It might be a little weird considering this tournament is in Europe, however stranger things have happened.

The Czechs do not have a World Cup in them, in my opinion. The legs are simply too old in midfield and if you shut down Nedved and Rosicky that really spells trouble for the Czechs.

On the other hand, these old Czech legs can do their work in the group stage and then leave the tournament afterwards. I mean they have the potential but not the energy to take them far.

Supposedly Milan Baros is going to miss the first match against my country, so that is certainly good news. Without Baros they don't have much speed up top and speed is what scares me the most when I look at Onyewu and Pope at the back.

The battle between Onyewu and Koller will be quite intriguing.

This coming from you who said Reyna is the midfield specialist, seems you have lost it too, whatever it is:D
Pope is stil in the team, how old is he now? Why did Friedel retire from Nt? He still has some good years left in him

baros is pure c*** , its for the good of the czechs hes not playing
Baros is much better for his National Team than at the club level for some reason. He never really found a home at Liverpool and has not really lived up to his potential in England, however for the Czechs he's quite a threat. He won the Golden Boot at Euro 2004 afterall..

True, however I just wanted to use it because it sounds catchy. :D

Pope is 33 years old I believe and it amazes me he's still in the squad. He looked disasterous against England a year ago and was not entirely impressive in the early qualifiers. However, as of late, he has given some decent performances and could actually get the start along with Onyewu at the back.

I'm not sure why Friedel retired, but Keller would be first choice anyway nowadays.
